Eisenhower warns against the military-industrial complex being to close to the government. He said that if they got to close things could get bad. "In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist." Some examples of this is "the project of the Americas"[1], Halliburton and the Iraq war.

The military-industrial complex is when the government gets too close to the industrial complexes and the military. This is bad because then they will have all the power and in the words of a wise man: "if I buy paints at the beginning of the semester, we are going to have a painting project." Similarly, if the government had control or was very close to the military and the military complexes, we would be in war all the time.

The project of the Americas mission but bluntly is to take over the world. They believe that American leadership is good for the whole world. This is their mission statement: That American leadership is good both for America and for the world; and that such leadership requires military strength, diplomatic energy and commitment to moral principle[2]. This organization has had people in office such as Dick Cheney; witch was a major player because he helped found the project of the Americas and he also played a major part in starting the Iraq war. He got close to the military and then strted a war. This war also benefited him, when there is war he gets more money.

The reason he gets money is Halliburton, a company that he used to be a part of that provides drilling for oil. Dick Cheney retired from the company in 2000, and he owns a fair amount of stock. [3] Halliburton got exclusive rights to drilling in Iraq, before the war even started. The speculation is that Cheney gave the rights to Halliburton and had the power from the military. This is an example of not heading the warning of Eisenhower

As you see, when the government joins with the industrial complex, we get in situations we don’t want and unwanted wars. And in the words of Dwight Eisenhower: “We must never let the weight of this combination endanger our liberties or democratic processes. We should take nothing for granted. Only an alert and knowledgeable citizenry can compel the proper meshing of the huge industrial and military machinery of defense with our peaceful methods and goals, so that security and liberty may prosper together”[4]

What I like about his writing is how after every quote not only does he site it, but he talks about it after and goes more into depth. He uses "Some examples of this is..." which i find to be professional and helpful to the reader.
Something that I also found in his writing is how he stays on the same page/topic instead of mixing his words around which could end up confusing the reader.
I really like his writing, but I would like to maybe see a relation towards another president? and more of your writing.
Other than that, it was really well written and very informative.
